In every list of attractions, you can get hit by too many choices. Just too much to go though. After all we are all busy people and to read through all the suggestions can be just too much.
So, to help you, we have made a “top ten”. Our favourite attractions, places to see, places to drink or eat, things to do. We use the term “top ten” loosely – there might from time to time be more or less than ten in this list, but it’s a catchy title.
Have a look through these before you go anywhere else. We would stress, this is a personal list. Your list might well be different. In fact, if it is, please contact us and let us know !!
I’ve had a few people say to me “It’s all very well having all these ideas, but it’s too confusing to make an itinerary from them.” This indeed may be a problem. Siem Reap Post . com offers so much, it’s hard choosing what to do. There is also the … Read More →
You know Angkor Thom, the great city of the Angkor Kings. If you’ve even spent one day visiting the temples, it probably started with a trip to the South Gate and on to Bayon. Two million people each year follow the same route, and you can’t avoid them. Or can … Read More →
Everyone who comes to Siem Reap visits Angkor Wat. It’s the law! Estimates vary, but it’s around a million tourists a year. That’s an awful lot of people travelling to a relatively small temple. For the obvious reason (the reason is the temple is obvious!) we haven’t covered it in … Read More →
“I’m going to meet an apiarist” “Is that someone who looks after apes?” “No, it’s a bee man” So went my conversation with a friend the other night. Actually, I was a little apprehensive about meeting the “bee man”. I had spoken to Dani on the phone, and he had … Read More →
You know we look for places with a difference – well Common Grounds certainly fits that bill. It’s a little tucked away. You can approach it from Tep Vong Street – go down the small road beside the ANZ Bank (most tuk tuk drivers know that) and it’s about 50m … Read More →
It’s a rainy afternoon, and you feel like treating yourself. Or alternately you might just feel like stepping back into a world you thought had passed 70 years ago. Put on some decent togs and take a trip to the F.C.C. for High Tea. The Foreign Correspondent’s Club next door … Read More →
“Now you fly”… I’d heard that before – the exhortation from the Sky Rangers at Flight of the Gibbon. Last time I’d done their interim course and had a really good afternoon. This time I was out to try the full course. It only opened to the public yesterday and … Read More →

I’ve already written an article about George (click here). Just to remind you he is the humanitarian photographer. In it, I said that he also runs photography tours, on behalf of Angkor Wat Photography. I had the pleasure of going out on just such a tour. Here’s the story. I’ve … Read More →
S.H.C.C. (Self Help Community Centre) – Sambat’s Story
Some time ago we wrote Tip’s story – remember the lad who has aspirations to become Prime Minister (click here for the story). Tip lives in the Kro Bei Riel Commune, about 8km from Siem Reap. In that story we briefly mentioned the S.H.C.C. However we didn’t do the S.H.C.C. … Read More →
Visiting a spa is one thing many of us might consider doing while we’re in Siem Reap. There are many to choose from. Starting at the chairs at the side of the road where you can get a 10 minute massage for $1 to places where you can go all … Read More →
The Station Wine Bar is a great gay orientated bar (there are only four) in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is welcoming, filled with locals who will chat and the waiters are cute. They have a long list (I’ve been told 20) of wines available by the glass, and many more … Read More →
