So it’s cold … yes it is. This happens every year and the expats all rush around and moan about it. “I can’t wear my shorts any more”, “I had to put on a pair of jeans for the first time since I’ve been here”. Poor us … At least we have money for jeans and can snuggle under our duvets at night. Think of the Khmers. First, they are not so used to cold weather as we are. Second how many of them can not afford an extra blanket to snuggle under, or maybe even a blanket at all?
How about buying a blanket for a cold Khmer? The kind folks at The Little Red Fox Espresso have agreed to collect them and act as a drop off point. My friend and I will ensure they are distributed to villagers quickly. Thanks to your generosity, we collected 25 blankets yesterday, which will go to elderly villagers in the Angkor Thom area today. 25 elderly Cambodians will have a warmer night tonight.
PLEASE … If you can still help, simply buy a blanket (they are sold in the Old Market and Phsar Leu) and drop it off to The Little Red Fox Espresso in Kandal Village (www.thelittleredfoxespresso.com). Our next run out to the villages will be on Christmas Day. Thank you to Mek and the staff at TLRFE, for visiting Phsar Leu on behalf of some kind donors and purchasing blankets on their behalf.

We have now distributed all the blankets we received so far. They were given to elderly villagers in the Siem Reap Province. This picture shows some villagers in Trapeng Veng village Kok Tlork Ler Chi Kreng District receiving your gifts last Friday.
If we get any more donations, we will go out again on Christmas Day. The villagers all want to say a huge “ORKUN THOM THOM” to the people who donated. Thank You!
